Community Acupuncture Session for Women’s Health for the York International Women’s Week Festival

Over the past few years an alternative model for acupuncture clinics has grown, known as community acupuncture or multi-bed clinics.  These clinics give people the opportunity to receive treatment at a fraction of the cost of one to one treatments and a range of symptoms/conditions would normally be treated in this type of space.  In this setting, several people are treated together in one large room.  The practitioner places the needles in one patient and then leaves them to relax into their treatment whilst moving onto another patient.  Needles are usually left in for 20 to 30 mins.

To support the International Womens’ Week, Nicky Thomas will be offering a community session with a focus on ‘acupuncture for women’s health’.  This will be a great opportunity to experience the wonderfully calming, settling and energising effects of acupuncture.

If you have been struggling with menstrual pain, morning sickness, menopausal hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia, low energy or anxiety then this session is for you.  For more information about the benefits of acupuncture for women’s health, please read Nicky’s latest blog on her website at

You will be asked to complete a questionnaire either just before the community session, or when you get in contact to book your place.  This will provide information to help decide on the best treatment for you on the day.  This will ensure that your personal information will be confidential.  We would appreciate it if you could arrive 10/15 minutes earlier on the day so that you have time to fill in a medical form.  You are welcome to drop in on the day but please note that you may not be treated straight away.  If you’re tight for time, then the best thing would be to book in advance.  Your session will take approximately 30 minutes. Loose comfortable clothing should be worn so that arms and legs are easily accessible

If you have any questions or would like further information about this session, or would like to have a chat beforehand about how acupuncture might help you with any symptoms that you are experiencing, please contact Nicky Thomas on 07583-291616, or email her at  If you’d to book a place then please contact York Yoga Studio directly on 01904-785704 or email:  Places are limited so please book soon.  The price of your session is only £10.
